Reason for invitation?

(Sorry in advance, I’m not sure if this is the right sub for this)

I want my grandma to come to Japan to help me take care of our newborn for three months but we have to write a reason for why she is coming for so long so she can get her visa(she comes from a country where that’s necessary). She was told at the visa center it’s better to not say she’s coming to help with our baby because it apparently “will take away jobs from Japanese nurses”. I don’t know if that’s true but I’m wondering if anyone else has had a similar situation? What kind of reason did you give?

  1. This is a very common situation for people from my country, me included. As far as I know, neither me or any of my friends had our invitations denied for stating the real reason.

  2. Hold on, I can have my baby taken care of at home by nurses????

Just FYI, during covid we had a child and used that reason to invite my mother. In the end she didn’t come but there was no issue at all
