I’m a 4th year 就活ing and I finally got my first job offer! They have me this very long contract but the pay is lower than expected and I’m slightly worried I’m being taken advantage of. I dont really know anything about contracts so I was wondering if there are things I need to make sure are there so that I don’t get fucked over? Things I should clarify before signing and stuff
Thank you and anything would help

Before signing, request the contract by mail, read it in great detail, the most important parts are the annual salary increase, benefits and the salary after paying taxes, medical insurance, etc…, the mandatory overwork hours and how much you they will pay for the monthly transport, based on that you can calculate if the salary is worth it or not.
if they don’t want it send the contract for some stupid legal reason then ask by MAIL all the details that I just wrote. Again by mail, not by call, not by zoom by their official mail, and not from another third party. So in case of any complaint you will have proof.
Is it a well known company ? If it is then it is highly unlikely they will pull a fast one.
Check for location, minaishi zangyo, base salary, make sure it’s seishain, days off (should be between 120-130), paid holiday and the increase rate.
Ask or clarify about benefits if any like transport, housing, etc.
Compare salary against companies of your size and industry and decide if you are ok with or if you think you can do better. Just sign now in any case, despite what they will claim it’s not legally binding.
What did your university job centre say when you asked them?

sometimes they may exist nominally but they won’t show you what they are
