I may have left the iron on, make me feel better.

So I’m home alone until Sunday when my wife and son come home, so I’m doing my own ironing every morning.

I have a bad feeling I left the iron on at home today.

It’s a Panasonic cordless one with an ‘auto-off’ feature so even if I did leave it on I’m sure that would work, but I don’t know how reliable those functions actually are.

In my head my apartment is on fire, I’m being deported and whilst in jail being haunted by the spirits of the hundreds of people who lost their lives due to my negligence.

Make me feel better 🙂

  1. You have fire insurance, right?

You’re still in your 20’s, so when you’re released from jail and your wife has long ago married someone else and moved far away with your son, telling him that you died in the fire, you can meet another woman and start a new family, right?

  2. Getting a nagging feeling that you left a tap running, just after take off on a long haul flight. At least you’re still in the same country.
Only other thing to cheer you up, I once switched the fridge off when going away, forgetting I left a stilton cheese inside, I won’t tell you the nameless horrors I came back to.

  3. I once left an iron on for 3+ weeks on a towel on my bedroom floor. This was a long time ago. I assume modern ones have an auto shutoff.

  4. it is fine, it is panasonic and you say there is auto-off, and so-far no fire related news (other than Hawaii).

  5. I’ve left an empty pan on the gas stove on low heat for hours on end and the only thing that happened was the kitchen was kind of warm when I got home. It’s not that easy for stuff to catch fire just from being hot. Don’t worry!
