I’m not very good with tech and I’ve been trying to set up internet in my apartment just outside of Tokyos 23 wards.
I’ve found out that I won’t be able to get Hikari, as my apartment currently does not have it and the management company don’t allow any construction in the apartment.
The only ports in the apartment (except for power sockets) are the 2 images below. Does anyone know if either of these can be used for wifi and if so which kind. If not is home 5G wifi worth getting instead.

One is landline telephone, which could probably handle ADSL [edit: never mind, new signups for ADSL are definitely closed] ~~if they still sell that in your area~~, and another one is TV antenna.
Are you below 3rd floor? A lot of times the only “construction” hikari cable involves is pulling a thin wire through from outside. Which can be done through the aircon duct and actually adds value to the apartment as it now has internet connectivity for next tenant. Have you considered asking this?
Sorry, I haven’t a clue what the words TEL and TV could mean.
But seriously, ask your estate agent as you could either ~~get ADSL through the telephone port~~ (I see ADSL is dead now), or cable internet through the TV port.
Alternatively, some form of 5G WiFi router, but the signal quality might be an issue if there’s a lot of tall buildings around.
Check with JPNAP/Internet Multifeed and see if they will bring fiber in if you sign a 2 year agreement. They pulled fiber into our house in Chiba, just outside of 23 wards, on a short contract.
Mine (mansion) didn’t have fiber, so when I got hikari, they removed the plate (first pic) and routed fiber up to the roof (basically pushed the fiber up the pipe), did some work on the roof, and then put on a new face plate. Took the guy about 20-30 min to set everything up.
