1. Honestly, I was hoping he won his block but I don’t think new Japan was going to have a Noah guy do that

2. I pray they really are trying to tell a story and Noah agreed to everything that happened. New Japan owe this guy a huge win down the line lol

3. I was trying to hold my thoughts on this because there can still be a story development until the finals match but yeah. Him joining G1 just to take Oiwa with him to NOAH is just weird. Really hoped there was more.

8. Gedo kinda books people non-main-event-NJPW regulars like that in the G1. Plus, point totals can be kind of deceiving in recent years with the 4-block format, since you’re not working with two huge blocks anymore so a middle-of-the-pack run will net you around 6 points instead of 10. Kaito will be fine, he had a great tournament.

9. Eddie Kingston being booked Strong and just falling short in a win and you’re in final night of block matches really showcases how poorly Kiyomiya performed.

   Even without advancing Eddie was booked as a strong guest from another promotion. Far stronger than Kiyomiya was.

   I did really think a win/loss record to match Kingston’s was Kiyomiya’s floor.you don’t even need to change that much about A block to give Kiyomiya a winning record and still get Hikuleo to advance. A few results. Move some draws around. Put Hikuleo over Owens to get his total higher.

10. Blame NOAH for not negotiating better for him, not NJPW for not pushing a guy who doesn’t work for them.

11. I’m really amazed that they chose Hikuleo to make the quarter-finales instead of Kaito Kiyomiya, Shota Umino, Ren Narita and Yota Tsuji.

    You can be as positive or have whatever feelings towards his performance you want, I’m talking about the reality in Kaito’s tournament and how bleak it is that the best NOAH can negotiate out of New Japan is THAT result. Kaito’s booking history in NOAH is already filled to the brim with odd choices and cutting him off at the knees, but they finally seemed to turn a corner on how to present him only for him to have spent the last 8 months of this year being embarrassed by New Japan breaking every promise he’s made to NOAH and it’s fans in that period.

    What’s wrong with you, that being asked to defend your claims that this was a good development for Kaito’s career despite his soft booking indicates there is something wrong with anyone else? There are material realities to Kaito’s standing in the landscape of Puroesu that have nothing to do with “choosing to be positive”. I’m objecting to your posts because they ignore what actually happened, and Kaito’s position in the industry, because they get in the way of you downplaying the absolute clown Kaito looks like for choosing to compete in the G1 instead of NOAH’s equivalent N1 and then failing to even be in the mix going into the end of his block. There is no Kayfabe explanation for his words and deeds being so far apart other than “he is a loser who failed”
