I’m traveling with my parents and uncle, and here is the current itinerary for 2 days in Osaka:
Day 1: traveling to Osaka from Tokyo. My uncle wants to travel in a relaxed way, so he wants to leave Tokyo AFTER lunch. 3 hours later, and we’ll have missed the majority of the day to spend in Osaka. I can only think of walking around Dotonbori and eating being the two activities we can actually do there
Day 2: my whole family is dead set on going to Universal Studios. My uncle’s been to the US one a couple of times, and I don’t think my parents or myself are movie buffs who HAVE to see an animatronic shark jump out of the water, or run into the Minions. I’m a Potterhead and even I don’t want to waste a day in Osaka, spending it at a theme park I could visit while in the US. Oh, did I also mention my parents don’t want to go on the rides because they think it would be a waste of time? So essentially, we’re going for photo ops and my uncle thinks it will be fun.
Our earlier itinerary had 3 days for Osaka and I included a lot of shrines for Day 3 and a Nara day trip (sorry if the formatting turns out to be off, I’m on mobile):
– Nara Day Trip
– Todaiji Temple
– Kasuga Taisha Shrine
– Shinsaibashi
– Amerikamura
– Shinsekai – food
Since now the new itinerary is just 2 days in Osaka, I think cancelling Universal Studios and proceeding with the 3rd day’s itinerary is the better thing to do, but my family is just not having it. We came to a compromise that if there is something major we would actually be missing out if we went to Universal Studios, we will change the itinerary. Otherwise, we’ll stick to the theme park.
I basically need your input to know if my Day 3 itinerary or Universal Studios is a better plan for Day 2. Of course, would love alternate suggestions too! Thanks in advance!
