Tokyo to Shimoyoshida by train

Hello, we are going to Japan next November and I would like to go see the view of Mount Fuji/Chureito Pagoda in Shimoyoshida.
I have read and researched both here and on different websites but I can’t find any information regarding this: I have read everywhere and all the websites and travel bloggers say that either you change trains at Otsuka and ride a local train to Shimoyoshida or you ride the Fuji Kaiyu to Kawaguchiko and the go back to Shimoyoshida via a local train.
But then Navitime gives me this itinerary where it looks like the Fuji Kaiyu train also stops at Shimoyoshida:

This would save me a lot of time since my intention would be to reach the Pagoda early in the morning and then go to visit Kawaguchiko later.
Could anyone confirm this train really stops at Shimoyoshida?
Thank you

  1. Seems about right. I have a similar time schedule as you.

    From my itinerary:

    06:45 AM → 09:15 AM

    * Shimbashi Station → Akasaka-Mitsuke Station → Shinjuku Station → Shimo-Yoshida Station
    * Note: Train leaves Shinjuku Station for Shimo-Yoshida Station at 07:30 AM!

    And that scheduled train from Shinjuku Station → Shimo-Yoshida Station is Fuji-Excursion 3 Kawaguchiko.
