My father got his PR (Eijuken) recently 😇 Now can his wife and children, apply for PR too?

So my father finally got PR after living here for 14 years. Now my mother and us 3 siblings arrived earlier this month on a 3 year dependent visa on behalf of our father. All 3 of us siblings are above 20 y/o. Can we apply for PR too? if yes then how long should we wait before applying?
Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated !
Thanks 😊

  1. I guess your mom has been married to your dad for more than 3 years? Then she can applied for PR after 1 year of residency in Japan.

As for you and your siblings, children of PR holders can also apply after 1 year of residency (unless born in Japan and apply within 60 days of birth). I remember there is a condition somewhere about being a minor, but now I take a look at [this]( https://www.moj.go.jp/isa/publications/materials/nyukan_nyukan50.html) guideline and don’t see anything about age restriction. Either way a quick call to immigration costs nothing so you should confirm this with them.

  2. u/stillbeezy How many months it took for your father to get his PR, from date of application?

  3. You can apply for PR after you’ve lived in Japan for at least one year, and are on at least a 3-year visa. (Your mother also needs to have been married to your father for at least 3 years).
