  1. “Parents and child support groups have been calling for the establishment of such a system. *But some experts have been critical, arguing that it infringes privacy rights and freedom to choose one’s occupation*, both of which are protected under the Constitution.”

    Wow. Speechless.

EDIT: If it’s not obvious, I’m disgusted. Children should have a right to safety no matter what and that should come before anyone’s right to “privacy” or choosing their occupation. This is basically to say that children’s rights are beneath the rights of a sick and violent adult who should absolutely know better. Hope this changes swiftly and that proper changes will be enforced.

  2. Under the current system, teachers who have been disciplined for sex offenses can reapply for a teaching license after three years. Parents do not know if a teacher at their child’s school is a sex offender.

  3. Finally. There are so many news everyday about how teachers have been diddling kids.

  4. What’s weird about people on reddit is that they only concentrate their comments on the issues of sex crimes and declining birthrates in Japan.
Obviously, there are a lot of perverts.

  5. The government “plans to require schools use a government system” so in otherwords it’ll take minimum 5-6 years to rollout and implement…
