Itinerary Advice

To preface this request..I’m a horrible planner, usually on vacation I go with the flow , have a few things I want to do and the rest have down time or find and discover things along the way.

After reading through a few of this community’s itineraries I’m at a loss for what to do and need help please.

I am new to making any sort of itinerary-because again -i’m very go with the flow, find and discover on your journey. But this is a big trip for my family and I feel like there’s so much we want to see and do (although I know myself and will be freaking tired from jet lag which I DID NOT account for anywhere in this trip). I tried to use google maps to visualize where everything is, then kind of just put it together.
Some of the stuff is half done, so if there are any tips please let me know. We want to see a few shrines, go to a lot of different vintage game/anime shops , try great food (we are foodies, so any suggestions please let me know!)

To get another idea how bad my trip planning is..I have neglected finding food places and placed more focus on shops and stuff that my family and I want to go to..
SOS any advice is much appreciated. We already have tickets to Disneysea, Ghibli warehouse, Legoland and USJ. And will try for Ghibli museum and Pokémon cafe/Kirby of course.

Thanks in advance!

  1. Day one, why do you want to sleep in Kyoto if you are to spend two days in Nagoya. Ok, I know it’s not that far using the shinkansen, but you can save some time in the train staying in Nagoya for the first 2 nights and only go to Kyoto at the end of day 4 (or 3, no idea, day 3 is missing).

Nowhere is dangerous for kids in Japan, the “dangerous” places are when you follow touts to their shady bars in nightlife area, I just hope you did not even planned to bring your kid to bars to start with.

Kifune shrine is find of far north of Kyoto, not sure it make sense to go there.

Day 6 in Osaka you are a bit all over the place… for half a day going to cup noodle museum that is out of the way, then a bunch of other places in different area…

JR Pass might not be a good value for you. If you are not going to Hiroshima, do not use the pass and stay in Nagoya to save money of doing 2 round trip Kyoto-Nagoya.

Akihabara you can add Radio Kaikan, include lot of stores including K Books and add Akiba Culture Zone for Lashinbang (among other stores). Melonbooks, DO NOT GOT TO [THIS STORE](https://goo.gl/maps/8ucqTxBTh2rbeYd46), it is extremely not appropriate for kids. It’s unfotunately the Melonbooks that is the easiest to spot from the street. It is fully dedicated do 18+ stuff and it can be explicit enough. You want to go to [this store](https://goo.gl/maps/MRrkYgqafGzxJdW9A), that is in the basement and not easy to find. Note that is still have a 18+ section with explicit images on the cover. Actually just in general, there can be adult sections (of floor) in anime/manga stores, so just keep an eye open with the kids.
