Tokyo Itinerary

Hi everyone. Here’s my first attempt at my Japan itinerary for the Tokyo portion. Please let me know if there’s anything on here definitely worth checking out that’s not already on the list. I’ll be using public transportation the entirety of the trip. I’ll be traveling with my husband as this is our honeymoon since we didn’t have one when we got married in 2020. 1. Day 2 may be quite busy. Harajuku, particularly if you’re wandering the backstreets and going down the hill to Aoyama too, can be a half to whole-day visit. Additionally you may wish to put Meiji Jingu and Harajuku on the same day, given proximity.

  2. Currently on the last day of my trip – definitely plan on some extra time in between locations to figure out and ride the transit system. Day 2 seems a bit too packed – you’d be going through a bunch of different neighborhoods that are at least 30 min train rides from each other. Sending and Asakusa alone took us several hours. Also be aware that Harajuku closes up around 8, so if you’re only planning to be there at night, you’ll likely miss a lot.

    Have fun planning!

  3. Your split for harajuku and Meiji Jingu across day 2/3 is interesting – they are literally across the street from each other (at least the entrance to Takeshita dori is across from the entrance to Meiji Jingu grounds).

For day 3, are you only going to yokohama for cup noodle museum only and no other sightseeing? There is a cup noodle museum as well as other Costco branches in Kansai around Osaka/Kyoto so you could also consider either of those two activities in Kansai area instead – may be stay in yokohama until evening for a the cosmo world Ferris wheel, the view is pretty neat.
