What insect is this?

I’ve seen it twice in my house now and can’t figure it what it is. Looks and moves like a caterpillar.

Sorry for the bad quality photos. I had to kill it quickly because my girlfriend is very freaked out by insects

  1. Looks like a cabbage moth larva or something. Probably got a ride inside on some produce. Harmless but I guess it’s gone now.

  2. Kemushi aka Hairy Caterpillar. Better to not touch it if you see it as it can lead to a heavy rash or hives.

  3. Try to not kill bugs henceforth (with the exception of mosquitoes). Just catch them and put them outside. Most (especially things like caterpillars that often eat only certain species or families of plants) are only inside by accident. If it’s a stinging insect, just open two windows and turn off the light. The insect will relatively quickly fly toward whatever breeze there is and toward the lightest area and will just fly out the window.
