Wi-Fi for apartment (help)

I need to an at-home wifi setup at my new apartment and cannot for the life of me find an easy way to get this done.

I tried applying through Sakura and Assist Solutions who both said it is NOT possible to install the NTT line in my building. They both said to refer back to the building management company and ask what wifi can be used.

Now, my building management company speaks no English and when I used my leasing agency through a three-way phone call to translate they thought I was asking about pocket wifi (which I got free through my contract). I said I needed an at-home wifi NOT a portable wifi, and haven’t received a phone call back like they promised.

I looked into getting one the SoftBank-Air devices and was told that it was also not possible to use in my building. Which I don’t believe. Can someone explain what these require to plug into? As I swear my building will have the necessary plugs.

What companies can someone suggest who preferably speak English and can install Wi-Fi in my apartment (hopefully without construction) as that seems expensive and unnecessary!!

Surely there is a simple solution to this. All I want is a router with wifi that can handle streaming and gaming without the need to pay a tonne of start up fees, constructions costs. I’m happy to pay up to 6000¥ a month for this. Please help as I really want to get this sorted, all I can do is continue topping up my data which costs way too much. Thank you

Btw. I live in Tokyo, Arakawa region.

  1. Docomo do a 5g at home router that you can get same day. Obviously less stable than a lined connection but easier to do, all you need is power at home. Docomo also advertise that if you go into their shop in person they will call up a translation service to communicate with you. This service is also available when you call their call centre

  2. There’s technically no difference between a home WiFi like SoftBank Air and a pocket WiFi, barring that one needs to be plugged into a power socket.
