Of all the buildings I saw in Japan, this was my favourite. I found it next to impossible to capture the sheer scale of the inside space.
Yo the donuts in this station were from another planet 🛸 So good..
I saw like an imgur album of this station and it’s scale is crazy. I love it.
I almost forgot how confused I was when I arrived there
I love this building but man it’s so confusing to navigate
Kyoto Station: *You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.*
I hate this station. Zero thought went into making it actually navigable and usable by travelers and all thought went into making it visually impressive.
When you’re actually in there you get constantly lost and get vertigo from riding the super long escalators.
You can frequently *see* where you want to go across the vast wide open space, bet getting there is an arcane puzzle of using the various escalators up and down in an order that has nothing to do with logic or physical location.
I love this station but I still think there’s a certain charm to the new Akihabara station, and of course I have to vote for Nagano Station as my favorite since that’s where I’m from
