Hello. I’ll be graduating university this December, with the intention of applying to PhD programs in biochemistry. At the moment, I am looking for programs in Japan geared toward international students wanting to do university research. I’ve asked around my school and my professors, to little luck, and I’m not finding much online. There are plenty for undergraduates, but not many for recent graduates. Could anyone recommend me some or point me in the right direction? Maybe there aren’t any. I’m in the USA and have been speaking Japanese for 10 years.

You can typically only do a PhD in Japan if you already have a Master’s degree. The procedures for application and admission usually differ slightly based on the university and graduate school. If you don’t speak Japanese, it’s advisable to research specific professors you would be interested in working with and contacting them to ask if they think they’d be able to supervise you in English.
