Sending luggage

What is best way to deal with 6 pieces of luggage when arriving into Tokyo and transferring to a domestic flight to Osaka? I understand many people send their luggage ahead? Is there a luggage transport at the airport you recommend? Or should we just check our luggage thru to our final destination as we do in the US?

  2. I wasn’t connecting to another flight, but we used Yamato transport to send our larger luggage to our hotel in Tokyo. It cost about 8000 yen for two suitcases and a large duffle bag. Yamato has counters in both Narita and Haneda airports and you just need your hotel address. You can write everything in romaji.
That said if your domestic flight has a luggage allowance, I would just use that.

  3. Keep it checked until you get to your destination airport. Depending on how you’re traveling after the airport you can consider using luggage shipping from that airport. But don’t try to ship your luggage from Narita/Haneda if you’re connecting via a domestic flight to Itami.
