My intellectually disabled brother is over visiting us for 2 months, and honestly it’s been great for him and us. My wife only just discovered that she is pregnant with our first child (we have been trying IVF for 2 years). I’d like to join her at the hospital for a consultation and I don’t really want my brother to be home by himself, and I dont think he’d have much fun sitting around waiting in the lobby. (he really is fine at home but there’s that 1% chance he gets bored and decides to wander off and get lost).
Want to know if there are services people have used before, and the easiest places to find them. They’d have to have a pretty good English level.

Nothing to offer besides congratulations to you and your wife. I hope it all goes well and best of luck
You could post an ad at a Japanese language school and hope that some English speaking student is looking for a part time gig?
I think it shouldn’t be hard to find English speaking Filipina 介è·. Maybe try on zehitomo?
There’s a few FB groups for Tokyo Helpers, many of them are Philippina and do one off housework or babysitting. I’m sure you could find someone there to help with this.
Edit; Tokyo Helpers Connect is the name
I’m not sure if he’s in the correct age range but, I really liked Chigusa Mori from Nursing & Doula Aoba. She speaks great English. They generally do pre and postnatal care support (which can include babysitting if it’s outside the Yokohama Helper Program). It’s worth sending an email to ask.

Semi-related: Congratulations! I hope everything goes smoothly at your appointment. I just gave birth in Yokohama in May. I’m sure it was rough waiting two years for that positive test, but at least it’ll be post-Covid so you should be able to be in the delivery room if it’s not a C-section. As I just went through giving birth, let me know if you have any questions!
