Hi all, I am planning a trip in November for Osaka and Kyushu area. I am planning to rent a car for the entire duration of the trip from Toyota Rent-a-car in Osaka. I have recently found about about the Sunflower Murasaki ferry from Osaka-Beppu which take cars. However, attempting the web reservation brings me to a page where I have to enter the car plate details. Thing is, I won’t be able to know the details until the day itself when I am collecting the car. Come to think of it, there isn’t any info on whether the ferry allows rental cars or not. Any one has information on how I can navigate the above? Thanks so much in advance!

I have done the Sunflower ferry Beppu – Osaka once before, passenger only though, no cars.
What I can tell you is, I observed a lot of ppl bought their tickets onsite. So if you are not fussed about it, you can do it once you know the rental car number? The reservation also doesn’t do much tbh, you still need to pay at the counter (so probably can update the car info there too) – unless they’ve updated the system since covid…
