Will sushi be affected internationally amid the Fukushima radioactive water being dumped into the ocean?

Just wondering if it’ll be best to hold off from sushi going forward amid this news. Maybe it’s fear mongering and maybe not, curious to see what everyone’s thoughts are.

  1. Maybe sushi straight from Japan.

But salmon is usually from farm raised Atlantic or Norway

Blue fin tuna is caught in Mexico around summertime

    Uni is caught locally

Yellowtail can be caught off california.

  2. It’s a trivial amount of radiation, I think there is a geopolitical angle to why surrounding countries are acting the way they are about it.

  3. It’s all fearmongering, 100%. Just think about it logically. Would Japan, a country that has been more devastated by nuclear tragedies than any other, and who depends almost entirely on seafood for sustenance, really discharge dangerous radioactive waste that could affect their fishery in any way?

  4. Literally the water being dumped is less radioactive than the ambient earth around you. It’s just fearmongering

  5. Your skeleton (the one that’s dwelling inside you right now) is more radioactive than the water they’re dumping.
