This probably sounds like a silly question but I recently moved into an apartment with a video intercom/buzzer system, and am just curious what the correct etiquette for answering the door is? I’ve heard some people say もしもし but have heard conflicting reports that this should only be used with familiar people, while most of the people that come to my door are mail people/delivery drivers with the occasional repairman or visit from the landlord. はい, ___です maybe?

If you’re asking what you should say immediately after answering it, I think you can say はい (but watch your intonation because it shouldn’t be a question) (i.e. not a rising tone). This is just to let them know that you’re listening. Then, after their introduction, you can say はい、どうぞ to let them in (like in restaurants or other shops).
(Edit) Alternatively you can just say ‘◯◯ です’ , I think what you were initially thinking is fine.
