Hi guys. I’m currently teaching abroad and already in Asia. I would like to go to Japan from here. I have tried to find this. But as an example, I have a working visa where I am now. Can I do the visa application for Japan at the embassy here? Or would I have to go back to America first?

**Do I have to apply for teaching jobs from my home country and to the visa process back home?**

As long as you’re a legal resident where you are, you should be fine to use the local Japanese embassy/consulate for visa applications. Keep in mind though that the CoE process can take several months. So keep that timing in mind when you make your plans.
You can do it from the embassy in your location
