How much are ceramic fillings?

I tried asking my dentist but he said we would just talk about it at my appointment. I’ve heard they can be very expensive and I just want to know if I can afford it or not, I need a lot of them so.. yeah. And I know you can’t get them on insurance either… if anyone knows anything I’d really appreciate some insight, thank you

Edit: I was expecting it would be expensive. Because I need so many fillings I think if anything I’ll only choose ceramic for the biggest fillings and maybe white composite for the other ones since I definitely can’t afford to pay up to 100k per tooth on ten teeth. Thank you for your comments everyone

  1. Just to say that prices vary a lot by dentist and location so it is worth doing some googling and shopping around: prices should be on the website. Once you know how many you need done and what material you can phone to ask. I saved 50,000 yen on a single crown by switching dentist.

  2. It’s a lot man haha I just went for the metal ones that are included with insurance 😂.

  3. Average cost would be 100k per tooth. Some dentists have resin as an alternative option which is slightly cheaper so consult with your dentist before getting treated.

  4. Resin has lasted me over 2 years and cost like 10,000 for a front tooth.

    The ‘temp’ stuck around

  5. My husband is a dentist so I asked him. He said it varies by dental office, so you can check around. He charges ¥80,000 per tooth at his dental clinic.

  6. Got a pretty large filling for around 50k and a crown for 80k, definitely worth it if you’re concerned about aesthetics, just watch some dentists geared towards expats might try overcharge for it though.

  7. I recently had a bunch of crowns done. Full crown for good quality was ¥70,000 per tooth, split into 2 payments. Half crown for a pretty broken tooth was ¥50,000.

  8. Last year I got a full metal cover for around 10,000 yen. Took about 25 trips to the dentist of course. I’ve heard that ceramic covers are around 100,000 yen and are mainly for vanity reasons. Nothing wrong with that of course.

  9. Anything other than basic shit is extremely expensive here to the point that it’s cheaper for me to book a flight back to my home country (war and all), stay for a month, and get all my treatments.

  10. Funny you mentioned that, I just asked the dentist about it cause I was fixing my tooth, very small cavity, he said “this would cost you around 50k” so as any other reasonable person, I went with whatever insurance covers instead.
