Are there any in-person job consultants for foreigners?

Long story short. I have a japanese wife who was originally gonna move to Denmark and stay with me, but it has been impossible for her to get a working visa (and a work at all) due to a hearing handicap.

So now I will have to come to her, which is totally okay, but I need to find a job.
I am a web developer (mainly frontend and UX), so freelance jobs exist, but its very dangerous to settle in another country with a freelance job as your only income, and I also need enough money to pay for japanese classes.

I tried searching remote jobs in the EU, but there seems to be none. Most end up being partially remote and the rest require 10+ years experience.

Many years ago I had a short internship in Japan, and I remember visiting a consultant that specifically helped foreigners get in contact with japanese companies.
I know these exist for careers too, but so far I have only been able to find online consultants where you just check some boxes and hope they reply to you.

Are there any places in Tokyo where I can actually meet a living breathing consultant?
I feel like it’s much easier to do an interview and talk about skills etc when it’s in-person.

  2. If you’re specifically looking to talk to someone in person, most recruitment agencies will have people happy to talk to you. Robert Walters is one of the larger ones.

Tokyo also has these guys to help foreign residents: https://jsite.mhlw.go.jp/tokyo-foreigner/english.html

Osaka has these guys (again, for residents): https://jsite.mhlw.go.jp/osaka-foreigner/e-toppage.html

You could also look at foreigner focused job boards like TokyoDev or JapanDev.

    Good luck!
