Just Moved Here

I just moved to Fussa. What are some things to do or go see before Japan fully opens their borders to tourists?

  1. Get married, then divorced.

Seriously though, any major tourist site. See what you can before the mainland hordes return.

  2. The biggest suggestion for something to see and do is I recommend you see what the results are when you do a search.

  3. If you want to see popular shrines, goshuin have a much quicker turn around now. Or they only have the premade pages. It’s been a crapshoot, really.

  4. Right now is the peak of summer holiday, all hotels are fully booked, and those that are still available are insanely expensive. Wait until end of September.

Otherwise, depends on what you like & how far you’d go. If you like history, go to Kawagoe, Kanazawa, or Kyoto. If you like nature, there’s plenty of good hiking spots around your area. If you like culinary, just go to downtown Tokyo.

  5. Get to Kyoto. Went for the first time when the borders were closed, and people from Tokyo weren’t supposed to travel. I was the only passenger on the sightseeing bus I was on. I got to see most of the sites with barely a sprinkle of a crowd. It was great!

  6. If you’re in Fussa, go for a tasting at the Ishikawa Sake Brewery, continue with a pizza at the place across the way and then top it all off with a couple of tallies sitting by the Tama river
