I’m moving to Nagoya as a student next week. I come from a small country where motorbikes can’t usually even go above 40kph due to how small the city is. So something like this is very new to me
I was thinking about transport and if I should get a bicycle or motorbike. Will note the questions below
1. Bicycle or motorbike what do u recommend?
2. How does bicycle riding works? Are you allowed to ride bicycles in ALL pedestrian walks? Or are there signs I should look for such as a bicycle allowed sign on the street. If u can do provide a website or any article that could help me learn that would be great
3. If getting motorbikes, should I get used or new ones.
Thanks!

Nagoya is a major city, with a robust train/subway system. So your first step is to figure out if you even *need* a motorcycle. The answer is probably going to be “no”, as you can get almost everywhere you need to go by train.

Riding on the sidewalk is actually illegal. People do it, but it’s a good way to get in trouble with the police.
