I am moving to Japan to attend school full time. I am on concerta. I an aware from last time that some of these medications are banned. I am curious to see if anyone that has ADHD prescribed , what is the best way to go about this? Because it doesn’t look like I can take them over without special permission.

Well, good news and bad. Concerta is approved for ADHD treatment in Japan. But you’ll need to find a doctor who can prescribe it for you and likely need to go through a rediagnosis process.
Start gathering up your medical records now, get it translated into Japanese, and see if your doctor or school knows someone you could start seeing who will be able to continue giving you prescriptions for it.
You can get permission to bring up to one months supply with you, instructions here: https://www.mhlw.go.jp/english/policy/health-medical/pharmaceuticals/01.html
Hopefully that one month is enough time for you to find a doctor here.
Good luck!
