Do Service Writers/Advisors exist in Japan?

I’ve searched all over and the only conclusion I can really come up with is that in Japan there are not very many Automotive Dealerships. I work as a Service Advisor/Writer (the guy you talk to when you bring your car to the doctor) in the USA, and I cannot seem to find that job position in Japan. I am considering moving there within the next 5 years or so, as long as I still want to after multiple visits/extended stays. As far as the jobs for foreigners it seems its all English teachers or IT jobs. I would hate to leave a very good paying job in the states getting by just fine to moving to Japan and struggling to pay the bills. I have tons of questions but I am still in the researching and learning phase

TLDR: Are there Service Writer jobs in Japan?

  2. There are tons of dealerships in Japan? I would even say that there are more per area than the US.

The only reason you can find English teacher and IT jobs is because those are the only jobs that don’t require being fluent in Japanese and can sponsor a visa.

Service jobs like what you are looking for both require being fluent in Japanese and cannot sponsor a visa. It would be unrealistic to be able to get this kind of job in Japan (if it even exists, when I get my car fixed at a dealership, there wasn’t anyone special to talk to).
