How much does a high school tuition usually cost in Japan?

I haven’t really been able to find an answer on google for some reason, I’m wondering how much does it usually cost to attend high school for both public and private school and if it’s payed monthly or yearly?

  1. Wierd, got multiple answers on Google when I tried.

The third result had a table of current year costs for about 20 schools, by grade.

  2. Private high school is a different story but in what part of the world are you from where public school is paid?

  3. Quoting this [article](https://www.rakuten-card.co.jp/minna-money/feature/article_2112_00001/#:~:text=%E6%9D%B1%E4%BA%AC%E9%83%BD%E7%94%9F%E6%B4%BB%E6%96%87%E5%8C%96%E5%B1%80,%E4%B8%87%E5%86%86%E3%81%BB%E3%81%A9%E3%81%8B%E3%81%8B%E3%82%8A%E3%81%BE%E3%81%99%E3%80%82) and as somebody who has studied in one.

For public schools including commuting fees and books. The average cost is around 1.5 million yen(10400$) for three years. For private, it’s around 3.8 million yen(26000$) for three years.
