It’s finally out and honestly I’m enjoying it so far. Two episodes in and out feels like the showrunners have understood and captured the tone of the animation accurately.
I’ve just watched one episode so far, but it’s pretty good! As a massive op fan I’m really happy, specially with the luffy actor!
Watching it in Japanese, they got the original 声優!
Not a huge fan of anime in general but I started watching the One Piece anime from the start last year, currently at episode 602 as of yesterday and I’ll probably binge the live action over the weekend.
I’d say it’s really good! I don’t want to compare it to other live actions done before but this is one of, if not, the best live adaptation. the casting was perfect, the iconic moments hit home emotionally, and man the nostalgia. it made me remember watching those early episodes as a kid
The acting sometimes feels awkward especially during the fight scenes but other than that it’s an OK show.
It is a waste that the battle scenes are not powerful enough.
I want more power like in Marvel movies.

I see people already complaining about the pace and such but, honestly, I totally understand that a 1-on-1 adaptation is difficult and that some things needed to be cut or changed. Also that it’s hard to portray things that worked in manga/anime with live action. Nevertheless, I think the actors/tresses are doing a great job and so far the script is good.
I wish there was like a public viewing of it so that I can share the hype with other OP fans nearby, lol.
I have hardly watched the one piece anime or read any of the manga and I really liked it. It even has me thinking of watching the actual series
Also a fan, so I binged it all in one night. My main gripe is that they turned the map to the Grand Line into a mcguffin. Most everything else that was changed is fine.
