Hello, I just received the personal notification number from the city hall, I think I now have to apply for my number card online, but during my orientation the university told us to not get the card but instead something else, I don’t remember what they told me to do but I think it costed 400 yen or something and they would give me something similar to my number card. Can anyone please tell me what that is and how to apply for it, I have searched the internet about it and did not find anything. Thank you

Might they have been telling you to get the plastic My number card instead? I don’t fully remember if I had to pay for mine as it has been a while but the plastic card itself will definitely simplify life.
Probably a juuminhyou? It costs a couple hundred yen to get one printed, and you can choose to have your My Number written on it.
