Snus stores in Japan

Family is visiting me in Kyoto, they lost their suitcase with all their snus. Does anyone know of any stores in Kyoto, Osaka or Tokyo that sell snus?

  1. Swede here who uses snus, been living here for years.
I’ve done my research around Tokyo, there are a few tobacco shops selling “snus”.

If you’re swedish and used to real Swedish Match snus this is not gonna keep you satisfied..

How long will your family be here? There is a store at the Shibuya crossing where they sell this “snus” if you’re in a real pinch and “snus” would be enough.

  2. I have bought Snus at the Family Mart at the very top of Dogenzaka, Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan.

Here’s how to buy the Snus.

    1. Enter the store (the doors will automatically open).
    2. Continue slightly beyond the cash registers where to your 3 O’Clock you will locate a rack containing smoking paraphernalia, cigarillos, and finally the Snus.
    3. Carefully study which brand and flavor you wish to acquire.
    4. Approach the cash register, ensuring that you maintain eye contact with the staff member.
    5. Clearly state the brand and flavor you wish to purchase. This should ideally be done in Japanese.
    6. Pay the amount required in Japanese Yen.
    7. Receive the Snus
    8. Turn right and walk approximately 10 paces to exit the store

Hopefully this helps you to acquire the Snus you are looking for.

  3. Family Mart in Tokyo now sell VELO nicotine pouches and if I remember rightly these are sold in Osaka. You’ll see them. Aside from that, in Tokyo there are a few stores selling Odens and Siberia, one in Nakano and one in Shinjuku (under Kinokuniya bookstore, I think it’s called Kagaya) and maybe another one or two stores that slipped my mind.

Aside from that you can find Japanese SNUS around some places, but be warned it’s very very sweet.
