  1. Really struggling with remembering vocab. I have been trying to use anki decks as people always suggest but it’s been a few months now and it’s jsut not sticking. I’m trying really hard to not give up and keep going but it’s starting to just be frustrating rather than enjoyable.

The whole reason I want to learn is to read and listen. I want to be able to play video games and read manga. I have been picking up and understanding grammar decently well. I’m jsut really struggling with remembering actual vocab words. I can regognise them audiably sometimes like “oh, i’ve heard that before!” but I can’t ever recall what it actually means.

I always struggled at school with studying. Anything I ever got good at tended to be practicle work where I was physically doing something. All of the class room stuff I ended up failing for barely passing. I feel like I’m very much back there with where I am with Japanese right now.

Is there another way I could maybe use that’s not anki or a test book?

  2. I’m not sure what “私だけっぽい” means in this sentence from the New Game anime:
    今年の新入社員は私だけっぽい何だか心細いな。

I read from DOJG that ”っぽい” means -ish/easy to become something/-like/etc. Does the sentence mean “**it seems like** I’m the only new hire”? I’m not sure if this fits with DOJG’s explanation but it’s the only translation that makes sense to me given the context from the anime
