Anker powercore+ 26800 allowed on flights through Shanghai?

So the last time I went through china to get home they took my power bank off me and didn’t say why just that it wasn’t allowed. I’ve since bought the powercore+ 26800 and it’s not cheap so don’t really want to lose it to airport security.

Does anyone know the rules for travelling with power banks and is mine ok to fly with? I checked the Wh and it’s 97.28 if that helps? Sorry it’s a bit of a niche question but really dont want this one taken away.

Cheers in advance!

  1. Last I flew years back, security only allowed 10,000mah and below. If they cannot find the 10,000mah label, they take it too.

  2. Yeah don’t risk it. They confiscated a very small power bank from me just because the specs had been rubbed off from wear.

  3. Just act like a manchild and throw a tantrum, that’s bound to work seeing how often it occurs on airlines

  4. The limit for spare LiION batteries is generally 100Wh and 160Wh with some restrictions usually based on carrier.

  5. most airline has a WH limit usually around 100-160wh per battery. Check the airline website for restrictions.

*Watt-hour rating (Wh) = rated capacity (Ah) × rated voltage (V)*

  6. Like others said, they will most likely take it regardless if it is within limit or not. You can rent powerbanks everywhere in China so don’t risk it.

You already had one stolen, keep this one home!

  7. Went for a trip to Korea a couple of years back. They tried to take mine. I asked to know what the actual rule was. They told me to sit in a waiting room. My flight wasn’t for a long time so I waited. A manager came and told me they didn’t actually have any rules written about it, it was just a thing they did for safety. The fact that I’d brought it from Japan in my carry on in the first place was just the icing on the cake. They gave it back and that was it.
