One day trip I plan on taking from Tokyo is to pay respects to Kurosawa at his grave at Anyoin in Kamakura. Also plan to see Kotoku-in while nearby.
Looking for other things there to fill my day before I head back to Tokyo. Not finding much else in my research – so might just be a beach/lunch day unless someone who has been there has a great idea.
I will not have a car but do love to walk. Somewhat. Thanks in advance.

There are a lot of other popular temples nearby, including Hase-dera, Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, Engaku-ji, Tokei-ji. For food and shopping, there’s Komachi Street. A short metro away is Enoshima Island, which has the Sea Candle for views, more popular shrines, the Iwaya Caves, a botanical garden, and also lots of food options.
Is it a joke post? Kamakura is a major tourist spot, with insane amount of history and temples, some anime spotting and Enoshima island just by itself. Kamakura period in Japanese history wasn’t just a coincidence, it was the facto capital of Japan. That is apart from the beaches. Also having a car in Kamakura is a bad idea. It’s entirely walkable and where it isn’t Enoden will help you.
