Japanese Language

How to even study Japanese if you don’t have a motivation and you’re not interested? like sometimes I do want to try to study but I really have a low attention span.

I’m here in japan and it’ll be almost 2 years but I’m still having a hard time, so much, I don’t even know if I improved especially when it comes to conversation

  1. Try to get into a routine and study everyday until it becomes a habit. Consistency is key, just studying for 10 minutes everyday would be more effective than studying one day for a few hours a week or two at a time

  2. If you don’t like studying, find something that involves the Japanese language which you do enjoy.

Find a Japanese YouTuber whose content or voice you like, and play their videos in the background whenever you’re doing something else.

Try to read a book or manga in Japanese, or play a game, and look up words you don’t know (only works if you are interested in knowing what the text says)

Join a local community of people who have similar hobbies as you and communicate with them.

Go to a local restaurant / bar / izakaya and communicate with the owner and regulars there.
