Pension exemption

I have 4 years left on my gaijin card and before I left Japan I got a re entry permit from immigration so I could come back if I change my mind about living in Japan in the new future. Before I left I canceled my health insurance and got a pension exemption that’s approved.

The pension exemption says 4年度分 on it so is that only for 2022?

I’m pretty sure I don’t have pensions stacking on top of each other that will all hit me at once while I’m not in Japan. How does the exemption work? I told the people in the pension office I wouldn’t be able to pay for my pension while I’m abroad.

  1. Why you don’t want to pay health insurance or pension? Especially pension. You basically get it back if ever leave Japan so there’s no point in not paying it. And if you decide to stay in Japan you’ll need to pay it anyway. If you’re employer doesn’t require health insurance I’d be shocked.
