  1. The nuclear powers, including the US, have sent a strong message to every non-nuclear state that their sovereignty will forever be an open question, unless they become similarly armed. Welcome to the 21st century where we’re poised to repeat the horrors of the 20th.

  2. Ahh yes China is scared of the nation that cannot declare war because of their constitution. Imagine how they feel about the US. Article 9 is pretty useful in maintaining peace and prosperity in Japan, but it’s been reinterpreted to give more freedom for military forces. China should worry about itself after all their economy is about to collapse

  3. Who fucking cares about China’s opinion? It’s China that is the only threat in the area and they just fired missiles into Japan’s waters.

  4. I really liked the idea of Japan not having nuclear weapons, or army, but living here for more than a decade, seeing China doing their stuff INSIDE the exclusive economic zone of Japan, seeing them saying “we don’t consider this to be their EEZ”, made me reconsider my view.

Japan need at least an official army, or more.

  5. Right sentiment, wrong countries

Nuclear disarmament is necessary but this feels like “put down your gun so I can shoot you.”
