Can I leave my oversized garbage before collection day?

Hello! I’am returning home after studying here for some time. In order to dispose my large items, I sent the application to the garbage center. Unfortunately, their schedules are full and the webpage gives me the date of collection but at that time I will have left the country. Since I can’t speak Japanese, I don’t want to call the center. Can I just get the coupons for the garbage and paste on them and leave in front of the house? I would leave the country few days earlier than their collection date.
Thank you everyone .

  1. Technically you’re supposed to leave it out no earlier than the night before it will be picked up.

If you’re going to be leaving the country before then, you can try asking the manager of your current residence if it will be all right to leave it earlier. Even if you leave it out without asking, they might let it slide if the stickers are on it with the date clearly marked.

  2. It is not allowed.

Also it happens all the time, depending on your apartment’s garbage arrangement. It might be an inconvenience to your neighbors or it might literally be inconsequential.

But there is a rule. Violating the rule is bad. Nothing will happen, but it is bad. Police might need to send teams around to tell all the other foreigners in your town the rules.

  3. You mention ” house” in your post but do you mean the apartment space you are renting or do you literally own your own housing unit?
If it’s the prior then it depends on the management. For example, the previous apartment I stayed in was pretty strict and would padlock the trash area limiting the time you can throw away the trash to just the morning plus the trash you can throw on that day i.e only throw burnable when burnable is to be collected. In the current apartment I stay nobody gives a damn just throw whenever and whatever any time.
