Where to dispose off old MacBook Air charger and broken headphone

Sorry, if it is a dumb question.

My macbook air charger seems to have died. I am wondering where can I dispose it off in Setagaya/Kawasaki.

Few options I could find online but they don’t specifically mention MacBook Air charger

1. Renet Japan
They don’t have any offline presence. Do I really have to pack up and ship this

2. Pc3r
They don’t list apple as a brand for disposal

3. Apple
Not sure if I can just walk into an apple shop and handover my charger (and then what should I do with headphone which is not apple)

4. Disposal box (long ago I had seen a small electronics disposal box at City office)
Do they still have those. Guess I will have to visit on Saturday and find out.

Any tips will be very helpful.
This is my first time trying to dispose off small electronic items in Japan.

  1. Ask the Apple Store?

I dunno I’m an asshole who just throws everything in burnable so good on you for caring.

  2. Not a dumb question!

Generally, Apple stores will recycle for you chargers, cellphones, headsets, etc., whether or not Apple produces that product. They’ve taken LG phones, Dell accessories, an old Dell laptop that had been used as a paperweight for 10 years (my DH likes to keep things around, lol).

Also, check the recycling schedule (it should be available at City Hall). I’m in Kyushu now, but we used to be in Setagaya. I think that there is one day a month that they collect household electronics (rice cookers, “walkmans’ haha…). It won’t specifically say this, but that list includes worn out chargers, plugs, lamps, etc. I’ve successfully recycled a broken keyboard and some old cabinet light fixtures this way. 🙂

  3. I’ve recycled old electronics in Apple stores (not just Apple products), but I’ve only done that in USA.

I would definitely start there if you don’t see a disposal box sooner.

  4. Can’t you just throw them out on 燃えないゴミ day? Chargers and earphones are under that type of garbage in setagayaku at least.

  5. According to my ward, those things can either be put into a box at the ward office, or you can throw them away on the same day as ceramics glass and metal waste.
