[Itinerary check] 14 days Oct 1 – Oct 14 Tokyo>Osaka>Kyoto>Tokyo

30M going to Japan solo. My plan is mainly just to explore and I am very flexible on my plans (Apart from the cities as my accommodation is already booked). I am open to any suggestions on the below. Also if there is anything you think I should book let me know.

Thanks in Advance!

Day 1:
\- Arrive 7am
\- Head to Tokyo Tower
\- Akihabara
\- Go to check-in in Hostel in Shinjuku
\- Take it easy exploring Shinjuku/Surrounding areas

Day 2:
\- Go to Shibuya crossing/Hachiko Statue/Shibuya Sky Deck
\- Walk through Yoyogi Park
\- Wander around Harajuku
\- Probably go round Golden Gai in the evening

Day 3:
\- Asakusa
\- Senso-Ji Temple
\- Tokyo Skytree
\- Ueno Park/Zoo

Day 4:
\- Studio Ghibli
\- Probably need something else to do this day. Any suggestions?

Day 5:
\- Teamlab planets
\- Disney Sea

Day 6 (Friday 6th October):
\- No plans/Explore whatever I feel like doing
\- Probably join a bar crawl in the evening

Day 7:
\- Hopefully not too hungover
\- Head to Osaka activating my 7day JR pass
\- Check into Hostel
\- Go to Osaka Aquarium after 5pm
\- Umeda Sky Building
\- Probably go out drinking again

Day 8:
\- Again hopefully not too hungover
\- Osaka Castle
\- Explore Dontonbori
\- Go on a guided food tour

Day 9:
\- Leave Hostel
\- Guided tour round Nara for half a day
\- Head to Kyoto and check-in to next Hostel
\- Grab dinner and wander around

Day 10 (Tuesday 10th October):
\- Fushimi-Inari
\- Ginkaku-Ji
\- Kiyomizu-dera
\- Pontocho alley

Day 11:
\- Head early to Arashiyama
\- Tenruji Temple
\- Monkey Park
\- Visit an Onsen

Day 12/13:
\- Back to Tokyo
\- Check into Hotel
\- Souvenir shopping
\- Maybe get a tattoo if I can decide what I want
\- Leaving these days free to just do whatever I feel like

Day 14:
\- Fly home

  1. You mention Studio Ghibli, but are you talking about the Ghibli museum or theme park in Nagoya?

  2. I spent the entire day at Disney sea and didn’t ride half the rides, it’s an amazing park but the lines can get crazy. I would be skeptical if you could fit team labs in the same day. Team labs is awesome tho, definitely don’t miss it. You may want to get tickets ahead of time tho, when my friends went in March they were sold out for weeks. Have a great trip!
