  1. Hey, due to the typhoon and me not having any experience with it in Japan can someone convince me to either go or not go for my itinary visits today? I was planning to drive to Suimeiso Camping Ground, Motosu Lakeside Campground, Fumotoppara Campground.

I was planning to go early but was too tired to check forecast yesterday and here I am. I have the car until 1800 today, however Id like to be there in good time to hand back car. Im not sure if im too stressed out or not, but I cant seem to understand how the typhoon works, will my drive around in Izu be “safe”? 9th-11th sep.

  2. Hi – also a little confused on what to do. We are staying in Tokyo today (shinjuku) and have tickets for the ghibli museum.

What is advised? The information seems to be different on every app / website

  3. We are supposed to take the Shinkansen to Tokyo this morning. I assume checking the JR website is the best way for status updates? It’ll say delayed or cancelled when they make the decision?

  4. I am supposed to fly in tomorrow (landing in Narita 6am on Saturday).

Guess thats not gonna happen then?

  5. Currently sitting in our hotel (hotel gracery) in Shinjuku and not sure what to do 🤷🏽‍♀️ was planning to go to Asakusa and explore a bit but not sure if it’s worth it with this rain?

  6. Is the Narita Express from Tokyo to Narita Airport still running? Google Maps says “reduced or partial service on both inbound/outbound lines” but is still saying that we can catch it from Shinagawa to Narita Airport. The JR website doesn’t list anything specifically about this line, so not totally sure.

We’re also about to take the Shinkansen from Shin-Osaka to Shinagawa in an hour or so, and the Smart-Ex app says most Shinkansen lines are operating as usual. Any cause for concern, or has anyone heard anything otherwise?

  7. In our hotel in Shibuya unsure of what to do with ourselves. We had tickets for Disney Sea today, but decided to give it a miss with the weather warning. It looks relatively fine out, so hard to tell if we made the right call. Wouldn’t like to get stuck out there though

  8. Hope you folks can enjoy the day even if it is stormy! I’m also sitting at the hotel IN Tokyo – wondering should we go outside. I don’t have a rain poncho with me even..

Last time when I was in a typhoon here, people said that in Tokyo the gusts of wind can be dangerous, they can rip off signs, trees etc and they can hit you. Ha ha just like in some bad movie.
