I work in the Tokyo/otemachi/marunouchi area. SO works in tsurumi.
we want to rent in a relatively nice area (walkable, lots of food options, etc) where our commutes are around 40 mins and below. I think oimachi is decent, but do let me know if you have any thoughts/suggestions. price not really an issue.

I used to work in Tsurumi too. Oimachi is definitely a great option. Maybe also consider Shirokane Takanawa as well? It’s a super nice upscale area and just one stop from Azabu on the Namboku Line. You could definitely walk there too though. It would involve either a walk or a quick transfer for your SO, but you could take the Mita line directly to Otemachi.
How about Kawasaki? Nice big location, your SO probably only needs to use the bicycle to work, lots of food choices around, there’s even a costco nearby. It’s a 17min train ride from Kawasaki station to Tokyo station.
Also bonus that it’s a one-shot ride to haneda, as well as yokohama, zushi, etc.
