Apple pay and Pasmo card

I did the big mistake of transferring my Pasmo physical card to Wallet (Apple pay), but now I cant recharge my Pasmo account using money because the physical is unusable . I Dont have credit card, only Wise card which Apple doesnt accept it.

What are the options for recharging my Pasmo account without a Credit card? Does Apple accept pre paid cards like Au card?

  1. d-card prepaid will work in apple pay and can be recharged by cash at lawson or by wise card online.

You can also charge your in-phone pasmo at 7/11 (and other places) that let you place phone in to charge and not just suck card in.

  2. charge it with cash… either in the ticket machine that have a special tray to put the phone instead of a slot to insert the card. They are the hot pink machines at JR stations in Tokyo. Or go to a convenience store. Tell the clerk you want to charge the card, tap on the reader, select amount, give cash to clerk, tap again and it’s charged.

  3. You can still recharge it with cash, either at the ticket machines that allow you to put your phone on the scanner, or at ATMs. You can also do it at convenience stores.

  4. As a heads up with the machines that can add cash to mobile IC cards at stations, not every station has them. I have had times where I didn’t have enough on my card to complete my trip and the station I arrived at didn’t have the right kind of machine. Last time this happened, the staff just let me out and asked me to come back to complete the transaction once I had topped up my card elsewhere. I really hope this is fixed soon.

  5. Another option is to try a credit card from outside of Japan.

In my case I charge my Suica card, with a US based credit card which is also in my Apple Wallet. At first I could hardly believe it worked but I have been doing this without issue for years now. Obviously pros and cons to this approach but may be worth trying out.

  6. Many station have slot(flashes with blue or purple light), where you just put your device on top of it and top up via cash just like regular suica or pasmo.
But not all station have it, you can apply for line pay(debit), add it to wallet and top up with it.

  7. i have a simillar problem but i want renew my teiki. i also forgot the password of pasmo app. i have tried many time to recover the password but couldn’t. can someone help what to do?
