Flying to Okinawa tomorrow on a days notice and I have no plans. What are some recommendations?

I’m flying from Tokyo, don’t ban me pls.

Anyways, we are a group of 5 Japanese people + me and none of us know what to do with 3 whole days. What are some recommendations of things to do for fun or things to try? Google mostly shows me touristy spots. Thanks!

Edit: Thank you all for your suggestions. I will probably try almost all of them!

  1. Visit an awamori distillery

Go to the Okinawa castle (altho still in repair)

    Go to the beach

Go to some local boozy izakaya

  2. If you have a diving licence, go diving. If you don’t, try a diving experience. A place that takes to you to Kerama would be best as the reefs the diving there is pretty good for close to mainland Okinawa.

  3. Rent a car. Drive all the way to Cape Hedo at the northern tip of the island- beautiful.

    Kudaka Isand, serene and chill.

Seifa Utaki, the spiritual heart of Okinawa.

  4. It’s in Kokusai doori (which is what it is), but Kozakura is a great izakaya, good vibes and friendly staff. There’s also a sister place called Koume (probably easier to get into with 6 of y’all?).

If you have cars and are in nago or the like already….Daisekirinzan (at the northern tip of the main island) is a really cool natural park. A drive though. Because of how the techtonic plates work that part of the island has like… million-year-old rocks.

There’s a war museum in Naha inside of a very high hill, a navy bunker I think? Very worth going into. Good place to reflect on the sort of sort of banal cruelty of the Battle of Okinawa. That + the Okinawa Prefectural Museum felt like a good crash course on the islands.
