  1. Looks more than doable. There are a couple things I’d highly recommend to add/move. First, you likely won’t need that second half-day in Akihabara. There really isn’t that much to do there, especially after a full day already spent there. It’s a lot smaller than it seems, and eventually all the shops become a disappointment because there are the same products everywhere. Same with Nakano Broadway. It will more than likely have all the same stuff you saw a few days prior. My suggestion is this: Kind of close in proximity is Senso-Ji temple. Walk from Kaminarimon Gate to the temple, and visit all the souvenir and food stalls. Not to mention that it is one of the greatest temples Japan has to offer. This is also the day that I would go to Tokyo Skytree. You have it planned with Harajuku, but that is the complete opposite side of the city, and traveling there and back would take a lot of time out of your day.

I’d also recommend making time for Shinjuku. Tons to do, see, and eat there. Honestly, I’d just go there at night and walk around. Check out Kabukicho and maybe find your way into an Izakaya. There’s also Omoide Yokocho, which is an atmospheric street filled with yakitori stalls under the train tracks. Highly recommended.

Ameyoko market street in Ueno would be my last big thing. It’s a different type of shopping from Akihabara. It’s almost like a flea market in a way. You could easily spend half a day just looking at the cool things and talking with shop owners.

Have fun and let me know if you have any questions!

  2. In the beginning of October there is nothing to see in terms of autumn scenery in and around Tokyo. For autumn colors you‘d have to visit places higher up like Nikko – but you‘d have to stay there at least for one night. And even in Nikko peak colours should be later around mid October.
