JAPAN ITINERARY

Below is my Japan travel itinerary for March- April of 2024. The times next to some places are the “best time to go there” for me.

Anyone have advice or changes? Should I get portable wifi + ESIM or just one of them? Should I do jr pass for second half of trip? Is 3K a good net spend? What’s some really good but cheap omakase? 1. Why would you need portable wifi AND esim… both for the same end result of having internet access. Just use one.

I think that for Kinosaki, JR West Kansai Wide Area Pass could be an ok value if you do as mucha as you can with JR around Kansai, but no huge savings either. Would be cheaper to get that and round trip Tokyo-Kansai than to take the 7 days pass after the increase. Not using any pass at all is also a valid option as you would not force yourself to use JR when it’s not always the most convenient and I do not thing there is much price difference anyway.

3k USD for like about 2 weeks… yes. it can be ok. I mean always depend on what you do, what kind of hotel and restaurant you select…. does it include flight?

If you go at 7Eleven, it won’t be to exchange currency, but to withdraw money from the ATM.

Does Shinjuku Gyoen have nightime opening that you confirm? Their usual closing time is 6pm.

Honestly, stopping for a night in Nara is really not necessary, it can easily be a simple day trip from Osaka or Kyoto.

In Kinosaki you do not have a kimono, but a yukata.
