I’m a Japanese citizen and plan on moving to Japan next January. My noncitizen girlfriend eventually wants to join me and we were wondering what her best options are visa/citizenship wise. Gay marriage isn’t legal in Japan yet, so it makes things difficult. Do partnership certificates have any affect on visas, or getting Japanese citizenship? Any advice or alternative ideas, or any answers would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

Just picked this up from my local Japanese market. Have never bought unagi before without it beyond pre-cooked/marinated, and thought it would be fun to try. Any tips for cooking this? It appears to be raw, and the fillets are much smaller than the pre-cooked ones I’ve gotten in the past.

Also, when you come, certain areas are more gay friendly (in terms of administration/rights). Shibuya-ku, for example, is more accommodating.
