Fastest driver’s license translation service?

I am trying to get a translation of my foreign driver’s license. ZIPLUS says 5-6 days, JAF says it used to be same day, but now could be up to 2 weeks. Anyone have experience with either of these services?

  1. I’ve only used JAF, it took 10 minutes.

It was 4 years ago, so not sure if it’s different now

  2. JAF Kansai turnaround for me was very fast, despite the two week warning. It arrived to them Thursday and I had it by Tuesday in Kyoto. You can also make appts for in person, I think.

  3. Got mine done by JAF in literally 2 days haha… except it was Nagoya office. Just keep in mind ZIPLUS doesn’t translate all countries….unlike JAF

  4. Mailed mine to JAF and got it a day later but that was pre-covid, unsure if it changed.

  5. JAF in Tokyo (Shiba Koen) says on the website you should send it by post and it takes 2 weeks, but when I went to their office in person they told me “if you can wait 30 minutes we’ll do it right away” so I got it in 30 minutes. This was a month ago so after they started Covid rules.
