Hi! I’m 24/F, my mother is a permanent resident in Japan and I was adopted by a Japanese national when I was younger that’s why I have Koseki. Is it still possible to obtain the child of Japanese national visa even if I’m already overage? Anyone who had the same experience (Applied for the same visa even age is above 20)

Thanks!

There is no age limit on this visa. It’s not like a dependent status. I mean, you could also get a grandchild of a Japanese national visa or even great-grandchild (although there are extra requirements on that one).
Out of curiosity, if you have a koseki did you acquire Japanese citizenship when you were adopted?
