europe to japan voltage converter for gaming console

hi guys, wondering if anyone has experience with this problem. i brought my xbox one with me from the uk after my recent trip home, hoping to play at my apartment in japan. I then discovered that because the japan voltage is 100v and uk/eu is 240, the power cable won’t power the xbox in this country and I’d need a voltage transformer. I went to my local joshin but the only up transformer they stocked isn’t suitable for use in japan, for some goddamn reason.

So tl;dr, does anyone have a recommendation for an up transformer that i can buy online here, which will let me use 200-240v appliances on 100v japanese power? advice is much appreciated!

  1. Why wouldn’t you just buy a Japanese power adapter for the Xbox and not try burning down your apartment with a step-down converter…?

  2. Check the voltage on the transformer, if it says 100-240v you are good to go, you’ll just need to buy a cable, to plug the transformer to the wall socket.
If it doesn’t you could just buy a xbox one transformer here in Japan, since the output should be the same.

  3. Are you sure the power cable won’t work?Did you check if it is compatible? They are usually 100V~240V.

I bought an Xbox Series S here and brought it to a 220V country. I just bought a 300 yen plug converter to Type-C and it works without any problems. Same with my laptop and phone chargers.

  4. Pretty sure the Xbox one can take 100-240v. Check the adapter to confirm. If that’s the case all you need is a round pin to flat pin adapter
